	&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
	<li>
		Visa regulations and procedures vary in accordance with the passport you hold and the purpose of your trip. Please, <a href="http://sistemas.mre.gov.br/kitweb/datafiles/Miami/en-us/file/quadro-de-regime-de-vistos-simplificado-ingles(2).pdf" target="_blank">click here</a> to verify if you benefit from a Visa exemption to enter into Brazil in accordance with those criteria.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Holders of US passports need a visa to enter into Brazil.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
	<li>
		This visa can be issued to persons traveling to Brazil for pleasure or to visit friends or relatives, as long as the visitor has no intention to remain indefinitely in the country or engage in any paid activity;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Individuals taking part in artistic events or athletic competitions for which there are no admission fees and no payment of appearance fee, prize money or any other monetary prize.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Scientists, professors, researchers attending cultural, technological or scientific seminars or conferences, as long as they do not receive payment or appearance fees from any Brazilian-based entity, except reimbursement of expenses or per diem allowances.&nbsp;</li>

<p>
	<u>International Vaccination</u></p>
<p>
	Yellow fever vaccination is recommended, but not mandatory, if applicant intends to visit one of the following regions in Brazil: Acre, Amap&aacute;, Amazonas, Federal District, Goi&aacute;s, Maranh&atilde;o, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Par&aacute;, Rond&ocirc;nia, Roraima, Tocantins.</p>
<p>
	<u>Important Information</u></p>
<p>
	Tourist Visa holders are not allowed to engage in any paid activity under employment contract with a Brazilian entity. This visa allows the bearer to stay in Brazil for up to 90 days, renewable by the immigration authorities for more 90 days. The total stay in Brazil cannot exceed 180 days per year.<br />
	<br />
	Bearers of a Tourist Visa intending to stay in Brazil for longer than 90 days must request at the Federal Police Department in Brazil an extension within the first 30 days of their first entry into the country.<br />
	<br />
	<u>Processing Time</u></p>
<p>
	Plan your trip accordingly, in order to have your visa issued on time. We do not expedite or issue same day visas. In case of emergency, please come in person to the Consulate with all supporting documentation.<br />
	<strong>Do not buy your ticket before the visa is ready.</strong><br />
	<br />
	In person or through an <u>immediate family member*</u>: up to 10 business days;<br />
	By mail: up to 30 business days;<br />
	By courier or travel agent: 45 consecutive days</p>
<p>
	* In order to be considered an immediate family member, the person must present proof that he/she lives in the same household as the visa applicant.</p>
<p>
	<u>Required Documents</u></p>
<ul>
	<li>
		Original passport valid for at least 6 (six) months prior to its expiration date. The passport <u><strong>must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages. </strong></u><br />
		Obs: Notice that a passport is considered a valid document only if it is signed by its holder. Therefore, make sure you sign your passport before bringing or mailing it to the Consulate General of Brazil. <strong>Applications sent by mail containing unsigned passports will be immediately returned</strong>;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		One recent individual passport photo, full-frontal, white background;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		<a href="https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/frscedv/index.jsp" target="_blank">One electronic visa application form</a>. Please, make sure to provide full information, even those supposedly not required. If you leave any field blank, we may request you to provide that information what could cause your application to be delayed or even refused. When you finish filling out the electronic visa application form, print the application receipt, glue your picture (DO NOT STAPLE IT!) and sign on the appropriate field.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Letter addressed to the Consulate with detailed information on your trip: tentative dates of arrival and departure, places to visit, contact information, hotel or any other place at which you will be staying. Please, don&#39;t forget to sign your letter;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Yellow Fever International Certificate (when applicable);<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		&nbsp;Participants in athletic competitions or performing arts events must present copy of letter from sponsor/organizer with detailed information on the event as well as conditions of attendance (informing clearly that there will be no admission fees neither payment of appearance fee, prize money or any other monetary prize);<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Those applying either by mail or by a third party must present proof of residence within the jurisdiction of this Consulate (Florida, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Island): Driver&rsquo;s License or any recent utility bill &ndash; issued within the past 90 day), and a prepaid self-addressed express mail envelop available at any US Postal Service;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Proof of income from the last 90 days (bank statements, credit card statements showing the available credit line or paystubs). If you cannot provide any of these listed documents, you may have a sponsor who must provide such documents AND an <a href="http://sistemas.mre.gov.br/kitweb/datafiles/Miami/en-us/file/AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT.pdf">affidavit of support letter</a> assuming full responsibility for your trip. Parents, even if Brazilians, must provide their financial documents to support an application for their children.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		&nbsp; Applicants under 18 years of age must present:<br />
		1. Both copy and original of the birth certificate;<br />
		2. <a href="http://sistemas.mre.gov.br/kitweb/datafiles/Miami/en-us/file/LETTER OF CONSENT-1.pdf">A Letter of consent signed by the parents or legal guardians</a>: Parents must present/send original ID document or passport along with the application. If Brazilian citizens, they must submit their original Brazilian ID (Carteira de Identidade) or Brazilian passport along with the application. Remember that a passport must be signed.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Brazilian citizens must travel to Brazil on a Brazilian passport. Those who have renounced the Brazilian citizenship <strong>must present proof</strong>.<br />

</ul>
<p>
	<u>Fee</u></p>
<p>
	The fee has to be paid by US Postal Money Order <strong>or</strong> receipt provided by the deposit&nbsp; machine located at the Consulate&#39;s main lobby. The machine only accepts cash and charges US$ 1.00 for the service. The US Postal Money Order should be payable to Brazilian Consulate General.<br />

<p>
	<u>Visas by Mail</u></p>
<ul>
	<li>
		Please allow 30 (thirty) business days for processing of visa application and return of passport, not including transit time. This processing time applies from the moment application is received at the Consulate;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Inquiries about the status of your visa application will only be provided if the processing time required by this Office has passed. Please confirm at the Post Office with your tracking number the exact date your application was received at the Consulate, otherwise consular officers will not be able to provide you with any information;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		The Consulate will receive correspondence sent by the U.S. Postal Service as well as all courier services (address the envelope to the attention of the Visa Section). However, the Consulate will only return documents via the U.S. Postal Service Express Mail. <strong><u>Applicants must therefore enclose a self-addressed pre-paid U.S. Postal Service Express Mail envelope for the return of their documents.</u></strong>&nbsp;<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		Incomplete or incorrect applications will be returned to sender.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		The Consulate will not accept envelopes which contain more than one application. Such envelopes will be returned except when the documents belong to members of the immediate family.<br />
		&nbsp;</li>
	<li>
		The Consulate is not responsible for delayed, lost or stolen mail.</li>
